Lyle Schwanke died on Monday, December 29, 2015, on his 100th birthday, at St. John Lutheran Home.
Funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at the United Methodist Church in Lamberton. Burial was in the Lamberton Cemetery.
Lyle Charles Schwanke was born to Charles and Bertha (Pankonin) Schwanke on Dec. 29, 1914, in their farm home west of Sanborn.
He is survived by children, Barbara Berggren of New Brighton, Bernel Schwanke of Sanborn, and Beverly Mullinix of Sibley, Iowa; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, in October 7, 2014, brother, Clarence; and sisters. Rosela, Gladys, Mae and Loraine.
