Norbert Johnson

Norbert  Johnson, 83, of Sanborn, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Wood Dale Home in Redwood Falls.

Visitation  preceded the one o’clock Memorial Service held the afternoon of Saturday, March 17, in the Sundown Lutheran Church, Sundown Township.  Pastor Juanita Parker officiated at the service.  Interment will be in the Sundown Lutheran Cemetery at a future date. 

Norbert William Johnson was born on March 23, 1934, to Arnold and Anna (Zamzow) Johnson in Sundown Township, rural Springfield, Brown County, Minnesota. He served in the US Army from 1954-1956 and returned to Sundown Township to farm and did custom corn shelling and custom combining. Norbert also maintained the township roads until retiring in 2004. On June 29, 1958, Norbert was united
in marriage to Faith Albertson in Sundown Lutheran Church. He loved his job, snowmobiling, camping, going to the lake, and collecting toy tractors. Norbert’s family was very important to him. He was a member of the Sundown Lutheran Church and the Colburn American Legion Post 286.

He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Faith, of Sanborn; sons, Scott (Linda) Johnson of New London, Todd (Barbara) Johnson of Sanborn, and Larry (Carrie) Johnson of Morton; grandchildren, Brandon, Brandee, Mark, Megan, Amanda, Marie, Daphne, Vaughan, Angelina, Anthony and Michael; great-grandchildren, Bayle, Aleah, Aubry, Bryce, Lilly, Hallie, Mylee, Kyleigh, Jarod, Maxwell, Alex, Peyton, Nolan, Reagan, Riley, Ripley, Earlys, and Melody; sister, Darlamae Lange; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Norbert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delbert Johnson; and
sister, Betty Ann Johnson.
