Otto Rosenau

Funeral service for Otto Rosenau, 84, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov.10, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating.  Interment was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Rosenau died on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Home.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude, of Springfield; children, Jeffry (Shirley) Rosenau of Rochester, Kelly (Roger) Sargent of Springfield, Dawn (John) Marz of Springfield, and Mark (Stacia) Rosenau of Springfield; grandchildren, Matthew (Tasha Francis) Sargent of Springfield, April (Beau Serie) Sargent of Springfield, Jacob (Jamie) Marz of Montevideo, Lucas (Aimee) Marz of Moorhead, Tyler Marz of Madison, Wisc., Ashlyn Rosenau of Springfield, and Jace Rosenau of Springfield; a great granddaughter, Rylyn Marz; sisters, Verna Mude, Violet Krebs, and Arlene (Sylvester) Vogel all of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Emil (Florence) Rosenau, Wilbert (Doris) Rosenau, Leona (Orville) Wog, and Art Rosenau; and brothers-in-law, Alvin Mude and Donald Krebs.

Otto Henry Rosenau was born on Feb. 13, 1930, in Springfield, Brown County, Minnesota, the son of Henry and Elsie (Trebesch) Rosenau. He attended several country schools and Sanborn Parochial School. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged on June 14, 1954. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Laura Baur on Sept. 1, 1954, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. He was employed at Vigorena Feeds for 41 years and assisted with taking care of the Springfield City Cemetery for the past 25 years. Otto enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, camping, the outdoors, and playing cards.
