Pearl Anderson

Pearl Gladys Anderson, 83, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Belview, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Seasons Hospice in Redwood Falls after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Belview.  Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.  Interment will be in the Vesta Cemetery.

Pearl was born May 30, 1932, at home in Echo Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Leo and Verna (Marotzke) Kreft.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta.  Pearl attended country schools through the eighth-grade and graduated from Milroy High School in 1950.  On September 23, 1950, Pearl was united in marriage to Orville Kuehn at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta.  Following their wedding, they farmed east of Vesta until 1966 when they moved to a farm near Belview.  To this union, four children were born: Judy, Lonnie, Joyce and Janice.  Orville passed away April 11, 1981.  She continued living on the farm.  On May 5, 1986, Pearl married Andy Anderson in Sioux Falls, S.D.  Together the couple lived and farmed near Belview until 2000 when they moved to Redwood Falls.  Pearl helped farm side by side with both of her husbands, and she loved it so.  Pearl loved her Savior and served him by being a very active member of her church.  She taught Sunday school at St. John’s in Vesta and later at St. John’s in Sheridan Township, where she also was the organist and served on the Ladies Aid.  Pearl enjoyed sewing and made quilts for all of her grandchildren.  She loved to polka dance with Andy.  The joy of her life was when her family visited her.

Pearl is survived by her husband, Andy, of nearly 30 years; daughters, Judy (Darwin) Pless of Redwood Falls, Joyce (Rick) Herman of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Janice (Eugene) Iverson of Parrish, Florida; grandchildren, Justin (Nicole) Pless, Kristen Pless (Dan Schutte), Katherine (Nicholas) Brozak, Amanda Exferd, Holly (Franky) Koval,  Sally (Chad) Hansen, and Jesse (Melisa) Heiling; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene (Marlin) Kuehn; brother, Floyd (LaVonne) Kreft; and many nieces, nephews and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Orville; parents; and son, Lonnie.
