Peter Pint

Peter J. Pint, 86, of Warrensburg, Missouri, formerly of Sanborn, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at his home.  

Peter John Pint was born Dec. 3, 1931, in Sanborn, Minnesota, the son of Joseph A. and Elsa A. (Schmidt) Pint.  He was raised in Sanborn and graduated from Sanborn High School.  He served four years in the United States Air Force including 18 months in French Morocco.  Peter was united in marriage to Mavis J. Kettner on Oct. 8, 1955, in Springfield, Minnesota.  The couple lived at Colorado Springs, Colorado, where Peter served as an Air Force mechanic.  The couple eventually moved to Sanborn where he helped with the family business, Pint’s Garage.  Peter was a longtime American Legion member.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He served on the Sanborn City Council and Volunteer Fire Department for several years.  A popular spot in Sanborn was the Pint’s Garage where Peter often had a bar and grill going.

Survivors include daughter, Jennifer Pint of Warrensburg, Missouri; three sons, Joel Pint and partner, Karen Chamberlain of Columbus, Nebraska,  Jay Pint of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jack Pint and wife Sandy of Hazen, North Dakota; sister, Anne Marie Kujawa of Springfield; granddaughter, Jennifer Pint and partner Michelle Mariani of Indianapolis, Indiana; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Harleth Arthur “Bud” Pint; and two sisters, Geraldine Washburn and LaVanche “Pip” Larson.

A memorial gathering from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Warrensburg was followed by a Hymn Service at 6:00 o’clock. Pastor Joel Kurz presided at the service. Additional services and burial will be arranged for July 7 in Sanborn.
