Phyliss Vogel
Phyliss J. Vogel, 87, of Springfield, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 21, from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church followed by services with Chaplain Noel Wetter officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Phyliss June Weber was born on June 24, 1929, to Herbert and Irene (Ripley) Weber in Sanborn, Redwood County, Minnesota. She spent her childhood in Sanborn and graduated from Springfield High School. On Sept. 5, 1949, she was united in marriage to Leander W. (Buster) Vogel at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. She spent most of her life on the Vogel family farm until retiring and moving to Springfield. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Phyliss enjoyed fancywork and quilting, playing cards, traveling, and especially spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her children, LeAnn (Don) Kurpiers of St. James, JoDee (Don) Frenzel of Mankato, James (Janie) Vogel, David (Doreen) Vogel, all of Springfield, Linda
Sukut of New Ulm, and Jack (Becky) Vogel of Comfrey; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; siblings, Maurice (Shirley) Weber and Ines Trebesch; sister-in-law, Marlene Weber; and brother-in-law, Joseph Vogel. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leander (Buster,) in 1985; brothers,Willis Weber, Curtis Weber, and Charles Weber; sister Arliss Block; and son-in-law Randy Sukut.
