Raymond Robert Jenkins

Raymond Robert Jenkins, 76, of Dodge Center, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.

Raymond was born on August 11, 1938, to Lester Faye and Esther Clara (Meine) Jenkins in Springfield, Brown County, Minnesota.  He married Judith Meine in 1961, they had two children, and later were divorced.

Raymond farmed with his family near Comfrey where he grew up and attended school.  In 1967, at the age 28 he moved his family to Claremont, where he farmed with his dad.  He worked at Owatonna Concrete during the day.

Ray was a farmer all his life and took great pride in his cattle and his crops.  He loved gardening, especially growing his muskmelons and watermelons.  Ray took trips with Jeff on their Harley Davidsons and had visited 48 states.  He especially enjoyed trips to Sturgis, S.D.  Ray enjoyed his family and seeing the great-grandchildren grow.

Raymond is survived by his children, Jeffrey Jenkins, and Brenda (Todd) Wilkinson, both of Owatonna; three grandchildren, Shari (Andrew) Schroer, Kyle Kruckeberg and Mitch Wilkinson; four great-grandchildren, Grace Schroer, Kooper Schroer, Ella Schroer, and Lilah Kruckeberg; brother, Samuel (Joanne) Jenkins, Blooming Prairie; and sisters, Pearl (Don) White, and Sylvia Saffert, both of Springfield.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Faith Lutheran Church, 308 2nd St. NW, in Dodge Center.    Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 25 South Street SW is in charge of arrangements.
