Rebecca “Becky” Fairchild

Rebecca “Becky” Fairchild, age 60, of Gary, SD passed away at her home on Monday, November 2, 2020 near Gary, SD.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.  Condolences may be directed to Cheryl Fairchild, 105 Monet Place, Mankato, MN  56001.  Houseman Funeral Home in Canby, MN is entrusted with the arrangements. 

Rebecca “Becky” Fairchild was born on October 24, 1960, at Canby, to Iven and Joyce (Ufkin) Fairchild.  She started school at Troupe School, a country school, and finished her high school education at Gary High in Gary, SD.  She grew up on the home farm.   

She studied accounting at Granite Falls and her first job was with Munsingwear in Minneapolis.  She later moved to Springfield, where she managed one of the local gas stations.  After her mother passed, she moved back to the farm to care for her father.    She worked in Canby, Watertown, SD, and was working at Maynard’s Grocery in Clear Lake, SD at the time of her death.  

She is survived by her sisters, Cheryl Fairchild, Mankato, MN and Tamara Haag, St Charles, MN and her brother Todd (Tammy)Fairchild, Detroit Lakes, MN; nephews and nieces, Andrew Wells (Andrea Henry), Nathan Wells (Michelle Tracy), Kristen (Rich) Constans, Lacey (Jerry) Koshenina, Vanessa Fairchild (Jabran Mustafa), Brittany (Zac) Zieman.; Great nieces and nephews, Christian, Nicholas, Evelyn, Nova, Kayleigh, Alex, Sierra, Farhan, Ayaan, Lugman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Twila Fairchild and Connie Woolverton.
