Reverend Edward Ardolf

Mass of Christian Burial for the Reverend Edward Ardolf, 79, of Nicollet, was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 5, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nicollet with the Most Reverend John M. LeVoir officiating.  Burial will be at a future date.

Father Ardolf died Monday, August 1, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Edward Joseph Ardolf was born July 20, 1937, in Silver Lake, Minnesota, to Albert and Cecelia (Pavlish) Ardolf. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1955. He attended St. Paul Seminary and was ordained in 1964.

Father Ed served parishes of Holy Trinity in Winsted; Cathedral in New Ulm; Holy Rosary, North Mankato; St. Raphael, Springfield; Canby and St. Leo; St. Mary’s in Sleepy Eye; St. Paul’s in Nicollet, and St. Mary in New Ulm.  He retired in 2014.

Survivors include his sister, Sister Miriam Ardolf, OSB of St. Benedict Monastery in St. Joseph; brother-in-law, Jim Decker of Mankato; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and their wives, Leo and Gladys Ardolf and Eugene and Dorothy Ardolf; and a sister, Joanne Ardolf Decker.
