Roland Richert

Roland Richert age 92, of Springfield died on January 3, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.
A public visitation will be on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
The family has asked for those in attendance to wear a face mask.
A Private Memorial Service will be held. The clergy will be Pastor Rick Frederickson.
Interment will be at the Springfield City Cemetery in Springfield.
Military rites by the John Watson American Legion Post 257
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.

Roland Richert was born on August 11, 1929 in Springfield, MN to Robert and Rose (Riebel) Richert. He lived in Springfield his entire life where he farmed for 65 years. He was a Leader for the Burnstown Bustlers 4-H Club. Roland loved working in his shop making metal sculptors, working on machinery and restoring Model-A & Model-T cars. He also enjoyed traveling, bowling with his farm friends and spending time at the cabin. Roland was a member of the National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Lenore, sons, Gary (Colleen) Richert and David (Joan) Richert, grandchildren, Raquel (Korey) Kieper, Travis (Laura) Richert, Tonia Richert (Joe), Anna (Ted) Halvorson, Treff (Megan) Richert, Zachary (Samantha) Richert, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and sister, Avona Bielen. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert (Irene) Richert, Donald (Joan) Richert, Kenneth (Ellen) Richert and brothers-in-law, Ralph Bielen and Virgil Kettner.
