Funeral service for Ruth Green, 85, of Sanborn, was conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, June 8, at the Red Rock United Methodist Church, rural Sanborn. The Rev. Judy Lloyd officiated at services.  Interment was in the Sanborn City Cemetery.

Ruth Caroline Green, 85, died on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Golden and Nancy Green at Adrian. She was born January 9, 1930, in Morgan, Redwood County, Minnesota, to Martha and Emil Koblin, and was the oldest of three children. Ruth graduated from Morgan Public High School in 1948 and met her future husband, Bruce Franklin Green, on a blind date. They were married on October 6, 1954, first living on a farm near Sanborn, but eventually moving to Finland, Minnesota, where for many years Ruth worked at Apollo Restaurant, located in the same town. On retirement, they moved back to Sanborn, settling on the family farm. They had been married 60 years at the time of Bruce’s death on January 26 of this year.

Ruth was a member of Red Rock United Methodist Church and the Germantown Tuesday Extension Club. She enjoyed cooking, canning, crocheting, gardening, and embroidery. Ruth loved to have her family around her, always making sure that there was plenty of homemade food when they came to visit. She will be greatly missed.

Ruth is survived by her sister, Darlene (Wallace) Huebert of Sanborn; her brother, Donald Koblin of Morgan; six children, Sandra (Darrell) Johnson of Long Lake, Golden (Nancy) Green of Adrian, Linda Marx of Monticello, Bruce (Bev) Green of Grand Marais, Don Green of Howard Lake, and Pat (Stacy) Green of Hastings. Also surviving are by 12 grandchildren: Darrell, Sarah, Jennifer, Charissa, Jessica, Miranda, Derek, Lisa, Kelly, Ashley, Anna, and Andy; and 11 great-grandchildren, Lucas, Curtis, Rebecca, Lillian, Harley, Raelynn, George, Linzi, Jackson, Adam, and Lily.
