Scot (Adeline) Coyour

Scot (Adeline) Coyour, 92, of Springfield, (formerly of Trimont and Fairmont), died peacefully Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Visitation was followed by funeral service at noon Saturday, January 17, in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at St. John Lutheran Home. Chaplain Noel Wetter officiated at the service. Interment was in the Springfield City Cemetery.

Scot, daughter of A.O. and Dorothy (Dimmel) Fisher of Trimont, was born on March 9, 1922, and graduated from Trimont High School and Mankato Commercial College. Scot worked several years at the University of Minnesota Business office. Scot was united in marriage to Howard Coyour, October 27, 1950. They lived, worked, and started a family in Fairmont. The family moved to Springfield on Sunday, August 4, 1963. Scot was a fulltime homemaker and worked part-time at the Sears Catalog Store, their family-run business in Springfield. Scot loved her family, the family poodles, bowling, shopping and knitting. She will be remembered by many as a great lady with a flair for fashion. 

“She was a happy, fun person to be around and really the glue of our family. She always found and brought out the good in her children. She was a gift. We are blessed to call her Mom. She was our best friend. We are grateful for every moment we had with her and every memory we share of her. She will be in our hearts forever.” — Her Children

Scot was preceded in death by her parents (1959 and 1989); her husband Howard (2008); daughter Marsha (1952); son Grant (1999); sister Sally Stewart (2009) and her husband Don (2003) of New Ulm; sisters-in-law Nita Rankin (1991) of Waterloo, Iowa, and Claris Delyea of Northwood, Iowa. (2011). 

Survivors are her children, Lee, of Willmar and Cindee and husband Jim Clausen, of Apple Valley; nephews, Michael Stewart of North Mankato and family, Patrick Stewart and wife Karen of Plymouth and their family, Mark Stewart and wife Becky of Eagle Lake and family; niece Debbie Rustad and husband Roger and their family of Northwood, Iowa; cousins, Ione Laase of Trimont and Marcia Dimmel of Mankato. 

Memorials preferred to St. John Lutheran Home — Riverhaven, Station 2 North, or the Chapel.
