Sister M. Thomasin Sergot, SSND

Sister M. Thomasin Sergot, SSND, 73, died Friday, March 18, 2016, at her home in Inver Grove Heights.

Her Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Good Counsel Chapel in Mankato.

Sister Thomas (Elizabeth Sergot) was born to Marion and Mary (Kerbel) Sergot in 1942 in St. Paul. She graduated from Good Counsel Academy in 1960 and entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame that same year.  After profession of vows in 1962, she taught elementary grades in Catholic schools for several years and then served in parish ministry, with special emphasis on rural parish ministry. In the Mankato area, she was principal at St. Raphael, Springfield, from 1992-1997, and parish minister at St. Peter Parish in St. Peter from 1997-2000.

She is survived by one brother, nieces and nephews and her sisters in community, the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
