Sofianne "Sofie" Evers

Sofianne "Sofie" Evers age 82, of Springfield died on May 20, 2021, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. 

Visitation was held on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield Chapel and will continue on Tuesday from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey, MN. 

Service will be held at the New Hope Lutheran Church on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. 

The clergy will be Chaplain Noel Wetter. Interment will be at the Springfield City Cemetery. 

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com. 

Sofianne Evers was born on July 6, 1938 to Harold and Viola (Syverson) Dingfelder in Sleepy Eye, MN. She graduated from Sleepy Eye Public Schools and then attended Mankato Community College. She then worked for Green Giant in Le Sueur, MN. On October 26, 1958, Sofie was united in marriage to James Evers at the United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye. Sofie worked at the Watonwan County Library in Darfur for 30 years, the Springfield Public Library, and the Comfrey Public School. The couple lived on a farm near Comfrey and moved to Springfield in 2011. She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey. 

She is survived by her husband Jim Evers of Springfield; children - Cindy (Loren) Hansen of Omaha, NE, Steven (Kris) Evers of Comfrey, and Dean (Rhonda) Evers of Comfrey; 6 granddaughters - Heidi Berry, Morgan Yoshimura, Miranda McMullen, Katelyn Evers, Marlayna Gatzlaff, and Carissa Evers; 6 great grandchildren; and siblings - Julie Ann Dingfelder of New Ulm, Ronald (Gloria) Dingfelder of Montevideo, and Linda (Greg) van der Hagen of Hutchinson.
