Suzanne (Sue) Bielen Carr

 Sue, 78, died peacefully at her residence on March 27, 2021.    

She was born in November, 1942 in Springfield, the daughter of Ervin and Donna (Patterson) Bielen.  She graduated from Springfield HS and traveled to various places/jobs before falling in love with Florida.  She married and had her 2 children while there.    

They moved to Minnesota with their young children where she attended Mankato State University, graduating with a degree in Social Work.  She went on to work at St John’s Lutheran Home in Springfield and then the Head Start Program.  In 1987, she relocated back to sunny Florida, working for the State of Florida until her retirement.  She returned to Minnesota in 2010 to be closer to family. 

Survived by daughter Kelli (Larry) Glaubitz, son David Carr (Kelley), grandchildren Chelsie Glaubitz Gabiou (Michael), Aaron Glaubitz (Kristine), Nathan Glaubitz, Alex Glaubitz (Jenna), Andrew Carr (Libby), great grandchildren Carrick and Rose Gabiou, Zoe Glaubitz, Abigail Carr, sister Diane Bielen (Bruce Bahneman), nephew Justin Westad (Abby) and numerous cousins. 

Preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles and cousins.   

Sue loved the warmth and water of Florida, where she lived most of her adult life.  She was passionate about spending time in and around water; sailing, swimming and people watching on the beach. She was a dog lover and always had one by her side.   

She was a supporter of Public Television, the Arbor Day Foundation and MSU Alumni. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation. 

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
