Sylvan J. Schumacher, 84, rural Sleepy Eye died April 28, 2019, at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Japanese Martyrs, Leavenworth, at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 3. Interment was in the Japanese Martyrs Catholic Cemetery, Leavenworth.
Sylvan Joseph Schumacher was born May 10, 1934, to Benjamin and Frances (Poss) Schumacher on the family farm in Brown County. He attended country school near Leavenworth then worked on the family farm. He served with the National Guard. He married Donna Dietz Aug. 1,1961. They raised seven children on the farm he bought in 1959. Sylvan retired from farming in 1997.
