Callie Wersal earned ExCel Award and Joseph Pieschel was ExCEL nominee

 

Callie Wersal earned the 2016 Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership (ExCEL) Award from the Minnesota State High School League.

Callie was one of the thirty-six recipients of the 2016 ExCel Award and will be recognized during the winter tournaments.  This is the 21st year that the Minnesota State High School League has sponsored the ExCEL Award.

Callie was chosen for the honor that recognizes high school juniors who are active in school activities or athletics, show leadership qualities and who volunteer in their communities.

Callie is the daughter of Steve and Heidi Wersal.  

Callie and Joseph were chosen for the honor that recognizes high school juniors who are active in school activities or athletics, show leadership qualities and who volunteer in their communities.

Callie is the daughter of Steve and Heidi Wersal.  She is consistently on the A Honor Roll and a member of the National Honor Society.  Callie has participated in volleyball, basketball and golf since grade nine.  She sings with the Springfield High School Choir and is a member of the SHS band. 

Callie is a member of the student council, yearbook staff and homecoming committee. She also is a member of the Business Professionals of America and the Mock Trial team.

She is involved in her church and her community.  Callie is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, has participated in mission trips, has been a Bible School leader, a member of the youth group, and sings with the church youth choir. 

Joseph is the son of Paul and Sharon Pieschel.  He is consistently on the A Honor Roll and a member of the National Honor Society.  Joe has participated in football, basketball and baseball since grade nine.  He sings with the Springfield High School choir and the SHS band. 

Joseph is a member of the Springfield speech team and the National Forensic League.  He serves on the student council and is a member of the Business Professionals of America.

He is involved in his church and his community.  Joe has volunteered for the Catholic Heart Work Camp, packaged food for the Food for Kidz program, helped with activities at the nursing home and various church events, and sings with the church youth choir.
