Early Childhood Screening is a quick and simple check of children 3-4 years of age

Early Childhood Screening (ECS) provides an opportunity for parents to learn more about their child.  Parents and children participate in screening components that include a vision and hearing check, growth screening, immunization review, developmental progress using a standardized tool, family health history and a social-emotional review.

Early Childhood Screening is conducted by certified teachers, licensed nurses, and trained volunteers.

ECS helps parents find out how their child is growing and developing and address any concerns the parent may identify.  Early Childhood Screening helps parents learn more about their children and find resources that may be helpful.

Screening prior to kindergarten entry is required by Minnesota state law.  Springfield Public Schools District 085 invites all children ages 3 years, or older, to be screened.  The next ECS date is Monday, April 1.  Call the elementary office @ 507-723-4286 for more information.
