Homecoming Week kicks off
Springfield High School kicked off Homecoming week this past Saturday with a coronation and dance. Community members joined the students in the high school auditorium for the coronation. Nick Peterson and Jessica Gould presented the 2021 Homecoming Court as pairs of queen and king candidates walked through the auditorium and took their place on stage. The candidates were Violet Hovland, Caleb Hauger, Lillian McCone, Brendon Buerkle, Megan Ploeger, Zach Granda, Haley Runck, Kyle Quesenberry, Lexie Vogel, Tate Mathiowetz, Jaida Wenisch and James Coffland.
After the homecoming court was introduced, the audience watched funny video skits put on by both queen and king candidates. They then heard words of wisdom from the 2020 Homecoming Queen and King, Courtney Wendt and Tyler Vanderwerf. Both encouraged the students to enjoy their time during homecoming week and at school.
