Kindergarten camp prepares children for school

Boys and girls who will be kindergarten students at Springfield Public Elementary School for the 2015-‘16 academic year had the opportunity to get acquainted with teachers, classmates and curriculum during Kindergarten Camp during four half-day sessions, 8:00 to noon, August 3-6. 

Carried out with a camping theme, they had sessions in reading readiness, math readiness, special activities with Diana Veenstra in the Media Center, with Alissa Steve in Global Explorations, Julie Prechel in Music, Peg Larson in physical education, story time and lunch. On August 6, their parents joined them for lunch and a session on bus safety.
