Kindergarteners celebrate one hundred days of school

On Tuesday, February 1, the kindergarten classes at Springfield Public School, taught by Brianna Jensen and Jena Veenstra, celebrated their 100th day of school.  One of the goals in kindergarten is for students to learn to recognize, count and write numbers to 100.  They have been working hard to meet that goal so they could celebrate the 100th day of school.

It was a day filled with fun activities.  Some of the activities included writing 100 words, building with 100 objects, putting together a 100-piece puzzle and, of course, counting to 100!

All students also got to bring a mystery bag filled with 100 items to share with their class.  Some mystery items students brought to share were:  100 buttons, 100 candles, 100 beads, 100 marshmallows, 100 pieces of cereal and much more.  It was a fun day had by all.
