Local students participate in Math Masters Challenge
Springfield Public Elementary School had four teams participate in the regional Math Masters Challenge at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall on Thursday, April 19.
Members of the fifth-grade Tigers 1 team were Jaden Walters, Keagan Streich, Emmie McCone, Jace Gordon and Hannah Nystrom Ninety-eight students competed individually and as teams on eight sets of mathematical problems in this competition.
The fifth-grade Tigers 2 team consisted of Brady Anderson, Talan Hall, Matthew Groebner, Kade Nachreiner and Diederick Sorenson. One hundred students competed individually and as teams on eight sets of mathematical problems in this competition.
The sixth-grade Tigers 1 team consisted of JaKob Nachreiner, Jack Scheitel, Danny Rogotzke, Kiera Lafferty and Bryn Gordon.
The sixth-grade Tigers 2 team members were Jalivia Richert, Easton Johnson, Easton Jensen, Mogen Winkelmann and Gabby Anderson.
Fifth-graders earning recognition in the Fact Drill round were Jace Gordon and Matthew Groebner.

Sixth-grader JaKob Nachreiner earned recognition for placing ninth in the Individual Round competition
