Reader’s Theatre is a big hit

Springfield Community Education recently finished a fun afterschool program with a performance on their last day of class.
Reader’s Theater is a way to use creativity and collaboration for students to develop oral reading fluency. The students used AI to help make scripts, they also built their costumes and worked on familiarity with their scripts and practiced expression for their performance.
On Friday, seven young actors performed several small skits including, A Fun Day at the Mall, Ice Cream Fun and Taylor and Savannah’s Farm Adventure. They concluded the show with a larger performance of The Hat, featuring all seven students.
The class of was taught by Ms. Tews with Mrs. Danielson assisting.
