River Valley speech team earns Section Championship

The River Valley speech team earned Section Championship honors at Saturday’s Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Section 3A tournament at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.
River Valley was champion with 54 team points, with Luverne and Adrian coming in second and third place with 35 and 33 team points, respectively.
Twenty-five River Valley students competed in 12 categories and 18 of those students entered into final rounds. Students placing in the top six in their categories were honored with medals. Those receiving third place or higher honors will advance on to the MSHSL Class A State speech tournament this Friday, April 17, at Lakeville North High School in Lakeville.
