River Valley Speech Team is Subsection Champion

The River Valley speech team competed at the Subsection speech tournament on Friday, April 4, at Montevideo High School. The team received recognition as Subsection Champion, earning 72 team points. Second place was awarded to RTR (Russell-Tyler-Ruthton) and third place to Montevideo High School who received 48 and 42 team points, respectively.
Twenty River Valley students were awarded medals for placing in the top six in their categories. The top four finalists in each category will advance to the Section 3A speech tournament which will be held at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall on Saturday, April 14.
