Rogotzke receives full-ride to SMSU

Springfield High School senior, Danny Rogotzke, got a surprise reveal that he had been awarded a full-ride scholarship to Southwest Minnesota State University last Wednesday. Danny was greeted by a large group of family members, close friends, high school staff and class members who cheered and clapped as he learned the news from SMSU admissions director Charlotte Wahle.

Sarah Eckstein, Springfield High School Counselor, said “When I knew Danny was planning on attending SMSU, I knew in my gut that he would be the perfect recipient of the full-ride scholarship,” adding, “He is one of the kindest, most genuine students I’ve encountered as a School Counselor. He is kind when it means the most, which is when no one is watching. I’ve overheard him many times talking to students in the hallway giving pep talks or support. He is a great human!”

Adam Meyer, Springfield’s Head Football Coach, and teacher, is also incredibly proud of Danny and all the work that he has done while at Springfield High School.
