Springfield’s National Honor Society welcomes 10 new members

Ten students at Springfield High School were inducted into the National Honor Society during a ceremony in the school auditorium March 18. They join the returning 18 members of Springfield’s NHS.

The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States which consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: leadership, scholarship, character and service.

The 2023-2024 NHS projects included visiting elementary classrooms once a month to build relationships and serve as role models to younger students, providing trick-or-treating opportunities for elementary students and hosting a high school Halloween costume contest. They sold treats and Advent calendars to end out 2023.
