Tiger Trek raises $19,135 to enhance education

Springfield Public Elementary students raised $19,135.28 in the 2018 Tiger Trek, an activity sponsored by PAWS (Parents Aligned With Schools). Students obtained pledges from family and friends to support their Tiger Trek bike ride or walk. The money will be used to further improve the quality of education, whether it be special programs, resources or supplies.
The entire student body gathered for a rally in Brown’s Park at 9:45 a.m. Friday for the thirteenth annual event that started with a rousing Tiger cheer, and a pep talk by Elementary Principal Jeff Kuehn. He reminded students to show appreciation to all who contributed to the campaign and reminded them to be safe, respectful and always do the right thing.
After the ride/walk, students enjoyed music, games and lunch in the park.
