Todd Bertram named 2021 SPS ‘Teacher of the Year’
Todd Bertram has been named the 2021 Teacher of the Year at Springfield Public School. A member of the faculty for twenty-nine years, he feels honored to be selected for the distinction by his peers.
Todd knew he wanted to be a teacher way back in high school. It has become an “all in the family” profession. “Both of my parents were teachers, so teaching was always something I thought about. I probably began to seriously think about a career in teaching while in high school,” he commented in a recent interview. His wife, Stephanie, is a Spanish teacher at Springfield Public School, his oldest son, Conner, will be teaching Social Studies in Texas next year and his middle son, Noah, will be student teaching next fall as an elementary teacher. His father is the real reason he became an educator.
