River Valley Tennis begins season at home
The River Valley Wildcats took on Fairmont last Thursday at home in Sleepy Eye.
“Our team faced some tough competition against Fairmont, but I’m incredibly proud of Taylor Berkner for her outstanding performance. She showed great resilience, winning her match in a thrilling tiebreaker,” stated head Coach Brandon Andrews. “Brissa Hernandez also played well in a loss against Alison Slama, who I expect to be one of the top singles players in our section for years to come. Jillian Mays and our first doubles team of Chloe Okerman and Dani Junker fought hard in their matches, showing determination despite the losses. We experienced some ‘first match nerves,’ but I’m confident we can shake them off as we head into the Worthington tournament this weekend.”
