River Valley Track heads to State

River Valley Track has an excellent weekend at the Section 2A Tournament held in Mankato this past Saturday. The Girls are the Minnesota State High School League Section 2A Runners Up! 

For a third year the 4x800m Relay took first place and are the 2023 Section Champs. The relay consists of Springfield’s Emmie McCone, Skyla Dauer, Marissa Pabst and St. Mary’s Brynne Ibberson.  

River Valley’s  4x100m Relay is also Section 2A Champions. This relay consists of Springfield’s Erika Wells, Cedar Mountain’s Hailey Hollar, Ellarie Blomeke and Sleepy Eye Public’s Nellie Fernandez. 

Katie Thram, Springfield,  took first place in 300m Hurdles with an impressive finish to earn a place at state also. 

River Valley Track will be sending 20 to State including relay alternates. The athletes will be leaving Springfield Schools this Wednesday, June 7, at 11:00 a.m. on the east side. Stop by and wish them well.

The State Tournament will be Thursday, June 8 and Friday, June 9. Prelims will be held at St. Michael-Albertville High School in St. Michael. Prelims will be this Thursday beginning at 3:30 p.m. and Finals are on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
