Springfield boys basketball team advanced to the 2A Section South Championship game after defeating Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey 79-74 Thursday night at Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial High School.
The No. 2 Tigers faced off against No. 1 Waterville-Elysian-Morristown on Monday night, March 9, at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter for the South championship. Results of that game will be in next week’s paper. The winner between Springfield and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown will head to Minnesota State University, Mankato, Friday, March 13, to play against the winner of No. 1 BOLD and No. 2 New Ulm Cathedral.
