Taylor Wallace wins 58th golf invitational

Taylor Wallace of Mankato won the Invitational/Father’s Day Classic at the Springfield Golf Club last weekend.  Sixty-nine golfers were looking for the championship of the 58th annual event.  Wallace shot rounds of 70-71 for 141 to take the championship.  Dillon Schultz, last year’s champion, took second place with rounds of 76-71 and Darrin Meendering took third with rounds of 77-77.  Congratulations to Taylor, Dillon and Darrin on a well-played tournament.

Other flight champions were:  President’s Flight—Dave Fox; Paffrath Flight—Bryan Gatzlaff; Carlson Flight—Drew Larson; First Flight—Arnie Arlt; Second Flight—Dean Penk; Third Flight—Derek Krebs & Roger Jackson (tie); Fourth Flight—Scott Honl; and Fifth Flight—Jake Gatzlaff. Congratulations to all the 2018 flight winners.

Tournament co-chairmen Paul Pieschel and Ramsey Beyer thank the sixty-nine golfers in attendance and invite the players to the 59th annual event in 2019!  Pieschel and Beyer also thank the many volunteers who helped on the course and in the clubhouse to make the 2018 tournament a great success.
