Tiger baseball ends season with Section 2A runner-up title

The Tiger boys varsity baseball team ended their season and took the section runner-up title last Thursday in Mankato.  After losing to the BOLD Warriors 4-8 on Saturday, June 1, Springfield went into  elimination play and faced New Ulm Cathedral on Wednesday, June 5.  The Tigers defeated the Greyhounds 11-4, moving them forward in section play to face BOLD once again for the championship title.  The BOLD Warriors defeated the Tigers 3-1 on Thursday, June 6, sending them to the state tournament and giving Springfield the section runner-up title and ending their season.

Congratulations to Head Coach Brandon Wilhelmi and his coaching staff and players on a fun and exciting season of baseball!  Coach Wilhelmi wants to thank his staff and  players for the great season and also all the fans for their support.  We look forward to another great season next year!
