Tiger boys defeat BLHS 75-36

The Springfield Tiger varsity boys basketball team won its 10th game of the season last Tuesday with a 75-36 win over BLHS.  On Monday, the Tigers lost to a good Redwood Valley team 99-80.

With the split in games, the Tigers are now 10-3 overall on the season, 7-1 in the Tomahawk Conference race.  The Tigers have a pair of league matchups this week.  On Tuesday, January 20 at MVL and on Friday, January 23 they face Cedar Mountain-Comfrey in Springfield at 8 p.m.  Best of luck to Head Coach Lance Larson and the Tigers against MVL and CMC this week.

Tigers 80  Redwood 99

The Tiger boys traveled to Redwood Falls last week to matchup with Redwood Valley.  The Tigers fell behind in the game 37-54 going into halftime.  Springfield lost the non-conference matchup 80-99.

Leading the way for the Tigers was Andy Salonek with 23 points, 1 assist and 13 rebounds on the night.  Teammate Tyler Vogel had 12 points, 2 assists, 2 steals and 5 rebounds with Tanner Vogel getting 12 points, 2 assists and 3 rebounds.  Carter Erickson had 10 points, 8 assists, 1 steal and 3 rebounds with Jevan Richert getting 8 points, 1 assist, 2 steals and 3 rebounds.  Isaac Fink had 7 points, 6 assists, 2 steals and 5 rebounds with Brandon Flock getting 4 points, 1 assist and 1 steal.  Kale Meendering had 2 points, 1 assist and 2 rebounds with Joe Pieschel getting 2 points and 2 rebounds on the night.

Tigers 75   BLHS 36

The Tigers played Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart in Springfield before a large crowd last Tuesday evening.  Springfield jumped out to a 43-19 halftime lead and Head Coach Lance Larson played his entire Tiger squad in the second half, going on to a 75-36 victory.

Leading the way for the Tigers was Tanner Vogel with 17 points, 3 assists, 4 steals and 4 rebounds.  Teammate Andy Salonek had 13 points, 3 assists, 4 steals and 6 rebounds with Isaac Fink getting 10 points, 9 assists, 2 steals and 5 rebounds.  Carter Erickson had 10 points, 2 assists, 4 steals and 3 rebounds with Kale Meendering getting 9 points, 2 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds.  Tyler Vogel had 8 points, 1 steal and 5 assists with Joe Pieschel getting 4 points, 2 assists and 3 rebounds.  Jevan Richert had 2 points, 1 steal and 2 rebounds with Brandon Flock getting 2 points, 1 steal and 1 rebound.  Andrew Beckman had 3 rebounds with Noah Bertram getting 2 rebounds on the night.
