Tiger girls defeat BLHS, Wabasso
The Springfield Tiger varsity girls basketball team dropped a non-conference game to Redwood Valley 76-74 but bounced back with a pair of Tomahawk Conference wins over BLHS 68-38 and 71-64 over Wabasso.
The Tigers have a pair of league games this week: on Tuesday, January 20 at home against Minnesota Valley Lutheran and on Friday, January 23 at home against Cedar Mountain-Comfrey at 6 p.m. Best of luck to Head Coach Paul Arnoldi and the Tigers against MVL and CMC this week.
Tigers 74 Redwood 76
The Tiger girls opened their week with a non-conference matchup against a good Redwood Valley team in Springfield. The game was close throughout, with Redwood Valley getting the win, 76-74, over the Tigers.
Leading the way for the Tigers against Redwood Valley was Joeli Arnoldi with 26 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 assists. Teammate Jenny Thoreson had 24 points, 2 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 assist with Vishe Raab getting 12 points, 11 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists. Michaela Leonard had 5 points and 4 rebounds with Taylor Milbrath getting 3 points and 4 rebounds. Amy Davis had 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists with Bridget Fenger getting 2 points and 3 rebounds. Teammate Mariah Hoyt added 1 rebound and 1 assist on the night.

The Tigers were back in the win column last week with a 68-38 win over Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart.
Leading the way for the Tigers was Joeli Arnoldi with 25 points, 1 rebound, 4 steals and 3 assists. Teammate Taylor Milbrath had 10 points, 3 rebounds, 4 steals and 1 assist with Bridget Fenger getting 7 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Vishe Raab had 6 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals and 1 assist with Amy Davis getting 6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 assist. Mariah Hoyt had 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 assist with Hailey Wester getting 4 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal and 1 assist. Jenny Thoreson had 2 points, 2 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists with Kaelyn Platz getting 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 assist. Michaela Leonard had 2 steals with Callie Wersal getting 1 assist. Teammate Natalie Timm added 1 rebound on the night.

The Tigers fought back from a Wabasso lead, 36-31 at halftime, to defeat the Rabbits 71-64 in a Tomahawk Conference matchup last Thursday.
Leading the way for the Tigers was Joeli Arnoldi with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 assists. Teammate Amy Davis had 13 points, 3 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists with Taylor Milbrath getting 12 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals. Jenny Thoreson had 9 points and 3 assists with Michaela Leonard getting 6 points, 9 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 assist. Bridget Fenger had 4 points and 8 rebounds with Mariah Hoyt getting 2 points and 1 steal. Teammate Kaelyn Platz added 5 rebounds and 1 assist on the night.
