Tiger town team baseball falls to New Ulm

The Springfield Tigers lost a tough game against the New Ulm Brewers in the Region 2C tournament on Saturday. The Brewers plated two runs in the first inning and added an additional run in both the seventh and eighth innings. Springfield scored their sole run in the second inning. 

Jakob Nachreiner took the loss on the mound, six and three quarters innings. He gave up three runs off of five hits, walked three and struck out seven. Brandon Wilhelmi pitched one and one third innings. He gave up one run off of two hits and struck out two. 

Ashtin Johnson led the Tigers with one hit and one RBI, followed by Sam Baier and Jacob Poehler with one hit each. 

With the loss, Springfield will take on Leavenworth Monday August 7, 2023 at New Ulm. 

More games are scheduled to be held in Springfield this Saturday, August 12. Games start at 1:00 p.m.
