2024 Tiger Trap Team

Tiger Trap ends season

It was another hard spring had by all 11,220 Minnesota High School trap shooters, but the Tigers fought for their best season ever, placing 2nd in their respective conference in Class 3A and bringing home some hardware.  Two Tiger shooters, Erik Davis and Diederick Sorenson, made it to the MSHSL State Clay Target Championship in Prior Lake at the Minneapolis Gun Club on June 22.

“Erik Davis and Diederick Sorenson shot very well for their first ever appearance in State competition, and should be proud of their accomplishments this season,” Head Coach Nathan Davis commented.  Competitors shoot 100 straight rounds in Prior Lake unlike other competitions where they shoot two sessions of 50 rounds each with a break between. “The day was better suited for ducks” Coach Davis stated as it rained while the individual competition took place. “It is already mentally grueling to stay focused shooting 100 straight, but having to do it in the rain is a different level. I’m not only super proud of these two performances but my entire team’s performance this year!” he went on to say.

The Tiger Clay Target team is poised for a great upcoming 2025 season ahead in both trap and skeet.  Prior Lake High school won the state title with a team score of 480/500.  Top individual honors went to Ross Huper of Alden-Conger High School and Lance Klersy from Monticello High School with perfect 100’s.

Congratulations to the Tigers on a great season!
