Springfield opened their season with a 90-32 blowout win over Red Rock Central at home Tuesday night.
The Tigers put it on the Falcons right out of the gate, forcing turnovers and building a commanding 61-16 lead at the end of the first half.
Springfield took their foot off the gas in the second half, outscoring RRC 29-16 as they cruised to a 58 point win.
The Springfield girls basketball team split two road games last week, losing to Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s (SESM) Tuesday while beating Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther/Truman (GHEC/ML/T) Thursday. The split puts the Tigers at 2-1 on the year.
