Tigers 11 MVL 8
The Tiger girls varsity softball team hosted a doubleheader with Minnesota Valley Lutheran last Tuesday, May 1.
In Game #1, Brittany Rogotzke was the winning pitcher with 2 strikeouts and 5 walks. Offensively, the Tigers had 8 hits. Brittany Rogotzke went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs while Sydney Schauman was 1 for 4 with 4 runs scored. Casandra Graff, Sarah Dunn, Sydney Schauman, Chelsey Havemeier, Cheyanne Hammerschmidt and Mya Mickelson each added 1 hit. Casandra Graff and Sarah Dunn both had stolen bases, adding to the team total of 8 steals in the game.
Tigers 24 MVL 10
In Game #2 of the doubleheader, Sarah Dunn got the complete game win, striking out 5 and only giving up 3 walks. At the plate, the Tigers scored 24 runs on 11 hits. Briana Schmidt was 4 for 5 with a triple and 6 RBIs while Chelsey Havemeier was 3 for 5 with a double. Casandra Graff, Samantha Richert, Elizabeith Johnson and Sydney Schauman each added 1 hit. Casandra Graff had 3 of the team’s 7 stolen bases.
Tigers 11 BOLD 3
The Tiger girls traveled to Olivia last Thursday, May 3 to face the BOLD Warriors. Brittany Rogotzke got the complete game win, giving up only 3 hits and striking out 2. The Tigers had a big sixth inning, scoring 6 runs. Sydney Schauman was 3 for 5 with 3 runs scored. Cheyanne Hammerschmidt was 1 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Casandra Graff had 4 stolen bases on the evening.
Tigers 13 Apollo 6
The Tiger girls traveled to Wabasso last Saturday, May 5 for a matchup with St. Cloud Apollo. The Tigers defeated the Eagles 13-6. Mya Mickelson went 2 for 4 with a double and a home run. Elizabeth Johnson and Brittany Rogotzke were both 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs. Sarah Dunn was the winning pitcher, coming in in relief, allowing only 2 hits, striking out 1 and walking 1 player. Briana Schmidt and Chelsey Havemeier both contributed two stolen bases for the Tigers.
