March is Minnesota FoodShare Month

     The Springfield Area Food Shelf is participating in the Minnesota FoodShare campaign during the month of March.  The campaign began on March 1 and runs to April 6.

     Minnesota FoodShare began in 1982 as a campaign advanced by congregations to restock food shelves in the seven-county Twin Cities Metropolitan Area.  The effort was so successful, and the need so evident, the March Campaign became a statewide initiative just one year later and is now in it’s forty-fifth year.

     The March campaign, the largest grassroots food and fund drive in the state, brings together organizations, businesses, faith communities and individuals to help keep over 300 food shelves statewide stocked throughout the year.
