Area youth attend Catholic Heart Work Camp

During the last week of June, twenty-nine area youth and chaperones traveled to Springfield, Illinois to attend Catholic Heart Work Camp.  The group spent the week serving others, deepening their faith and growing as a community.

Each day started and ended with all youth sharing experiences, prayer, worship and praise and the local group meeting at the close of the day.  During the day, the youth and chaperones worked at many different sites serving those in Springfield, Illinois.  Some of the activities included helping at Habitat for Humanity, serving with an organization for young boys without father figures in their lives, helping at the soup kitchen, serving with an organization that provides full time care and housing for those with mental disabilities, putting on a Vacation Bible School, helping local schools do yard work and organization work, helping at an after school program, working with the local Art History Association and helping elderly and disabled adults with home projects.
