Red Cross urges blood donation gift to give this holiday season; Bloodmobile coming here Monday
It can’t be wrapped or placed under a tree, but the perfect gift can help save patient lives this holiday season. The American Red Cross urges eligible donors to give the lifesaving gift of a blood donation in December, a time when donations decline but the needs of patients remain steady.
You can help by sharing the upcoming blood donation opportunities when the Red Cross Bloodmobile comes to Springfield next week. Give blood, the most important gift you’ll ever give — the gift of life. Donate blood or platelets during the Springfield Community Blood Drive Monday, Dec. 19, from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Springfield Area Community Center.
Donors of all blood types are needed this holiday season to help ensure a sufficient supply for hospital patients. The American Red Cross is reminding the public that the need for blood doesn’t pause. While many are celebrating the holidays with family and friends, patients in hospitals are still relying on blood products.
