Emma Pratt

Emma Pratt, 98, of Redwood Falls, died Thursday, March 16, at Seasons House hospice in Redwood Falls.

Emma Lee Roush was born Feb. 4, 1919, on a farm near Morton, graduated from Morton High School in 1937, enrolled in teacher training and then taught in Renville County rural schools. She married Leslie Pratt July 24, 1942, in Morton. She was a stay-at-home mom for the first 20 years of marriage. In 1964 she went to work as the stockroom clerk at J.C. Penney’s until her retirement in 1984.  Emma was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years. 

She is survived by daughters Carla (Ray) Erpelding, Karyl (Jeff) Beeman, Janet Selim, Joyce (Dennis) Schwarzrock, and Marlys (Jerr) Skoblik; 11 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls. Burial was in the Redwood Falls City Cemetery.
