Frequent blood donors feel joy in giving Gift of Life

Phyllis Weber gave her 128th unit of blood on Monday, Jan. 29, when the Red Cross Bloodmobile came to St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.  Phyllis doesn’t recall when she gave her first unit of blood, but that she was required to get a signature to verify her young age. And, she’s been giving blood ever since. She is pictured with Red Cross phlebotamist Bobby Baxter of Mankato. Arden Brand gave his first unit of blood at age 21, and continues to give blood frequently.  He was unsure of the amount of his blood donations, but it is over 10 gallons.
