Tigers get Homecoming victory
The Tiger boys varsity football team picked up their third win in a row when they defeated Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Friday afternoon at Sticker Field. It was a great way to end Homecoming week at Springfield High School! The Tigers led 13-0 at the half and kept up the momentum through the rest of the game, defeating the Panthers 26-16 and handing TMB their first loss on the season.
At 3-2 on the season, Springfield will travel to Minneota to face the Vikings this Friday evening at 7 p.m. Congratulations and best of luck to Head Coach Bob Fink and the Tigers in action this week!

The Tiger boys varsity football team defeated Tracy-Milroy-Balaton in their Homecoming game Friday afternoon at Sticker Field. The Tigers defeated the Panthers 26-16.
Scoring for the Tigers included two touchdowns by Isaac Fink—one 19-yard passing touchdown and one 60-yard passing touchdown, both from Decker Scheffler. Scheffler had a 12-yard rushing touchdown and Owen Bertram had a 36-yard rushing touchdown. Tim Rogotzke was 2-1 on the extra point attempts.
On Tiger offense, Decker Scheffler was 23 for 32 in passing for 302 yards along with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. In receiving, Isaac Fink had 14 catches for 246 yards that included 2 touchdowns. Nolan Hovland had 5 catches for 26 yards while Dylan Batzlaff had 2 catches for 19 yards. Jake Rosenstengel had 1 catch for 9 yards while teammate Jordan Kieper had 1 catch for 2 yards. In rushing, Tiger Mason Rummel had 9 carries for 44 yards while Owen Bertram had 3 carries for 35 yards that included a touchdown. Decker Scheffler had 10 carries for 29 yards that included a touchdown while Nolan Hovland had 2 carries for 7 yards.
On Tiger defense, Noah Solmonson had 5 tackles and 2 assists while Mason Rummel had 3 tackles and 7 assists. Kadin Johnson and Jerry Majors each had 3 tackles and 3 assists while Issac Fink had 3 tackles and 2 assists. Decker Scheffler and Tyler Michel each had 3 tackles and 1 assist while Tori Helget had 3 tackles for the Tigers. Ivan Hovland had 2 tackles and 7 assists while Caleb Hauger had 2 tackles and 1 assist. James Ploeger had 1 tackle and 2 assists while Nolan Hovland had 1 tackle and 1 assist. Dylan Batzlaff, Preston Moen and Dathan Sargent each had 1 tackle while teammates Xandar Asmus, Jason Berberich, Jordan Kieper and Curtis Tauer each had 1 assist. Isaac Fink had 1 interception and Jerry Majors had 1 fumble recovery for the Tigers.
