Inez Marks
Inez H. Marks, 92, of Springfield, died on Friday, July 12, 2019, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Funeral Service following visitation was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, in St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Tricia Mattson officiating. Interment was in the Springfield City Cemetery.
Inez Helen (Stark) Marks was born on Jan. 20, 1927, to Edward and Bertha (Noack) Stark in Burnstown Township, Brown County, Minnesota. Inez was baptized into the Christian faith on March 27, 1927. She grew up on the family farm near Springfield and attended country School District 55. Inez worked at Springfield Dairy and Fecker’s Market before her marriage to Melvin Marks on Nov. 19, 1945. The couple farmed by Coden, Evan, and later purchased a farm near Darfur in 1957. In 1989, they retired and moved to Springfield. Inez was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and involved with the Rebekah Circle and Quilting Group. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Ronald (Gloria) Marks of Butterfield; grandchildren, Shannon, Michelle (Jamie) Krause, and Kyle (Lindsay) Marks; great-grandchildren, Weston Kyle Marks, Valen Reese Marks, and Samuel Fredrick Krause. Inez was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin, in 1997; daughter, Sharon Kay, in infancy in 1949; a brother, Leo, in 1979; and a sister, Irene Roiger, in 1980.
