Bonnie G. Bloemke

Bonnie G. Bloemke age 81, of New Ulm, died on January 2, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN.

Visitation was on Monday, January 8, 2024 from 10:00 a.m.to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Springfield, MN. A memorial service was held at the St. Paul Lutheran Church on Monday, January 8 at 11:00 a.m. The clergy was Chaplain Noel Wetter. Interment will be at the Springfield City Cemetery.

Bonnie Lee was born on July 28, 1942 to Edward and Henrietta Lee in Springfield. Bonnie lived on a farm north of Springfield. She attended country school through 5th grade and then graduated from Springfield Public School. Bonnie then attended Mankato State University for two years. In 1964 she resided in California for the year and worked for Braniff Airlines. On August 7, 1965 Bonnie married Bruce Bloemke at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Springfield. After they married, the couple moved from Minneapolis to Denver. In 1967, they returned to Springfield and farmed together. Bonnie worked various jobs including Windings in New Ulm, REM and cleaning homes. She enjoyed crafting, reading, horseback riding, traveling, gardening and cooking. 

She is survived by her husband Bruce; children - Kara (Randy) Platz of Springfield and Ross (Stacey) Bloemke of Walnut Grove; grandchildren - Jack, Jake, and Tom Platz and Camille (Trystin) Rossow; and brother Dan Lee. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Henrietta “Hank” Lee.
