Maxwell Lawrence Fromm

 

Maxwell Lawrence Fromm was born August 6, 1952 in Springfield, MN to Alfred and Irene (Hauth) Fromm. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1970. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran in Springfield. Following graduation, he served in the United States Navy. After his time in the service, he moved to Long Beach, California, where he found his forever home. He spent his working years in the restaurant business doing serving and delivery. He passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2024 at his home at the age of 72. 

Max enjoyed spending time and visiting with friends and family. He spent some of his free time helping clean up the beaches in his neighborhood. He enjoyed and took pride in his pets. Family and friends would very often all receive handwritten letters about his daily life happenings in California. 

He is survived by siblings Betty Lou Kosel of Sanborn and Dallas (Nancy) Fromm of Fairfax; sisters-in-law Carol Fromm, Monica Hauth and Helen Fromm; nephews - Michael, Erik and Brian Hauth; nieces - Angela Tomlinson, Sara Hauth, Mary Maleska, Darcy Roelofs, Amanda Julius, Elizabeth Frietag, and Sydney Maurer; special friend CJ; and many California friends who he considered family. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Irene Fromm; brothers Cedric Fromm, LeRoy Hauth, Jesse Fromm, Gordon Fromm; sister Rosita Fromm; brother-in-law Doug Kosel.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday, August 25, with a small interment at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Springfield, beginning at 1:00 p.m.. A meal will follow from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Springfield American Legion.
