Edward Nelson

Edward Nelson, age 83, of Elk River, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026. 

Edward was a dedicated member and former District Governor of the Lions Club in Mounds View. He had a deep love for animals and was affectionately surrounded by many beloved furry family members throughout his life. He enjoyed dancing, country music, attending concerts, traveling on cruises—having taken more than 20—and spending time with family and friends at card club, gatherings and family events. He will be remembered for his joyful spirit and love of life. 

Survived by wife of 62 years, Sue; children, Cindy (Rob) Jones, Kim Nelson, and Tanya (Scot) Johnson; grandchildren, Weston Jones, Matt Nelson, and Cheyenne (Justin Peele) Jones; siblings, Delmar Nelson, David Nelson, Gladys Steiger, Arlene (Jim) Perkins, and Wally (Pat) Nelson; and many cherished furry companions. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mable Nelson; and siblings, Marvin Nelson, Maryann Zeibarth, Ronald Nelson, and Vernon Nelson. Visitation 10:00 AM on Monday, June 8 at the VA Community Chapel, 5101 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis with the service following at 11:00 AM. There will be a private family burial in Springfield, Minnesota.
